I was volunteering at a school with my dog Buzz, when the kindergarten teacher asked us to visit with a student who was very upset. We were told that the student often struggles with transition in the morning. The little girl did not want to talk to anyone. When Buzz approached her, wagging his tail, she immediately smiled and gave him a hug. She whispered in his ear that she was upset because she lost her lunch box on the playground. She then stroked his fur for a few minutes before looking straight into his eyes and asking him if he could come outside and help her look. Buzz, the little girl and I walked outside to the playground, where we found her lunch box. She was very happy and Buzz got a big hug. (Dec 2015)
